For the fifth consecutive year now, I have celebrated Groundhog Day and Chandeleur, or Candlemas, together. Both fall on February 2nd and deserve observance. I, in no way celebrate Chandeleur religiously, but it is the day in France where everyone eats crêpes, so I can get behind that. Following my own tradition, I made Japanese curry and watched the movie, Groundhog Day, with friends before making crêpes and setting up a toppings bar. I went with a banana, Nutella, raspberry, and toasted almond crêpe, pretty delicious, and then made Crêpes Suzettes the following day with the leftover batter. I hope everyone will join me in the celebrations next year, wherever I may be.
