When I first arrived in Thailand I came across a beautiful pale cerulean blue coconut sticky rice dessert. A few days later I noticed other similarly tinted foods - a blue drink sweetened with sugar and lime juice, and a blue coconut custard pancake. Intrigued, I asked...

I miss Paris. I moved away over a year and a half ago, but the wounds I got from leaving still feel fresh. And although I can’t be there now, I can live as though I am.

Last night I cooked one of my favorite French meals, coq au vin, followed it up with homemade lavend...

February 2nd is a very important day. Not only is it Groundhog Day, but it is also the French holiday of Chandeleur, or Candlemas, the day in which everyone is supposed to eat crêpes.

For the sixth year in a row, I invited friends over to watch one of the greatest movie...

Missed it by that much! In New York City yesterday, a monster winter storm dumped 26.8 inches of snow onto the city, just one-tenth of an inch shy of the record. The roads were closed, much of the public transportation closed as well. The only thing to do was to stay...

It’s that time of year again, Hanukkah!

And I’ve really been doing it up.

On the first night, I had a Hanukkah dinner catered by The 2nd Ave. Deli, a New York staple

The second night was epic, a massive all-you-can-eat-and-drink dinner and dancing extravaganza at Sammy’...

Another ice cream recipe, you ask? Yeah, it’s summer and it’s hot out. Plus, this is no ordinary Oreo ice cream, it’s really fucking good Oreo ice cream, using very high quality, organic ingredients, minus the Oreo cookies themselves, of course.

Something about this fl...

Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream can be so great, or so disappointing. Bright green dye, chemical mint flavoring, and cheap chocolate can ruin this ice cream’s reputation. Luckily, my recipe uses fresh mint for a nice background flavor, pure mint extract for a kick, and h...

Things are heating up in New York. People are beginning to dine al freco, drink in beer gardens, and the girls have even begun wearing bikinis to sunbathe in Central Park ; all the things I love about warm weather.  And that also means that it's a perfect time to make...

December 18, 2014

I've been on an ice cream making kick lately. I find it's always good to have some tucked away in the freezer for a last minute dessert or drunk snack. And even though I don't drink a ton of coffee, this coffee ice cream is one of my favorite flavors. Using nice coffee...

If you've been keeping up with my blog lately, you may have noticed quite a few recipes using matcha, or Japanese green tea powder. This is for two reasons: first, I was given some as a gift recently, and second, it's really fucking great.
So, most recently I made som...

Born in Toledo, Ohio USA, Stevie Fury spent years touring the United States as the drummer of We Are The Fury. While on tour, he ate his way from city to city, sampling everything that was offered. Eventually, Stevie's love for food fully took over and he left the USA for France to attend the legendary Le Cordon Bleu where he graduated with honors in both cuisine and patisserie. After, Stevie furthered his knowledge as he studied wine and spirits  at Le Cordon Bleu Paris and the Wine And Spirits Education Trust based in London. With his skills he cooked for the attachés of the American Embassy in Paris for three years before returning to the states to play that good old rock 'n roll music in Jeremy And The Harlequins and to begin new culinary adventures in New York City.
